Summary

Easily and securely log into your WordPress website with our step-by-step guide. Access your site's dashboard hassle-free.

The process of logging into a website built with WordPress shouldn’t be difficult or time-consuming! Here are the step-by-step instructions to log into WordPress.

Step 1: Open Your Web Browser

To start, launch your preferred web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).

Step 2: Enter the Website URL

In the browser’s address bar, type the URL of your WordPress website. To access the login page, add “/wp-admin” to the end of your website’s URL. For example, if your website is “www.yourwebsite.com,” the login page would be “www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin.”

Pro tip: bookmark this URL in your browser to make it easier to access next time!

If you have already logged into your site at some point, you will see the Dashboard page, so you shouldn’t need to log into WordPress again.

If you have not already logged in, this URL will take you to the login page, and then automatically redirect you to the Dashboard page after successfully logging in.

Note: This exact URL might be different based on the settings of your site. If someone built your site for you, check with them to confirm this URL.

Step 3: Enter Your Username and Password

  • On the WordPress login page, you will see fields for “Username” and “Password.”
  • Enter your WordPress username in the “Username” field.
  • Enter your password in the “Password” field. The password is case-sensitive, so be certain to enter it correctly.

Pro tip: use a password manager, like our favorite – 1Password, to make remembering your logins easier!
